The liquid formulation of Galactofructose f-type comprises different functionally active and microbiome friendly non-digestible carbohydrate (NDCs) with a total content of around 49% w/w.
The main component of Galactofructose f-type is the bioactive lactose derivate galacto-fructose (lactulose). An NDC formed during heat treatment of milk by re-arrangement of the lactose molecules galactose and glucose. That’s why it is also present in very small quantities in sterilized or pasteurized cow’s milk, condensed milk, milk powder and dairy products.
Moreover, in nature galacto-fructose can be found in edible mushrooms like Shiitake and Maitake.
